Sometimes we want to replace the component in the work order. In Sage X3, we have the option to change the component on a work order function. Let’s learn how is it done-

In the above screenshot 1, we have created a work order with components BMS004 and BMS115. Now we try to change the component “BMS004.”
Follow the below process
Navigate to:- Common data > Products > Products
Go to products select the BMS004 and enter the desired product in the “Alternate product” field in the management tab then save the changes. Refer to the below screenshot 2.

Navigate to:- Manufacturing > Planning > Work order
Now click on the action button on the work order that you want to change the component. Then select the Material details option. Follow the below screenshot 3.

After clicking on the Material details option, the system will pop up the BMS004 product details in that click on Replace button. Follow the below screenshot 4.

After clicking on the Replace button system will open the alternate product that we set previously in the master level; click on OK. Give a look at below screenshot 5.

After clicking on OK, it will replace the bms007 and then save the record. Refer to the below screenshot 6.
