In SageX3, we can create a purchase order in different ways. We can create direct orders or from planning workbench, grouping workbench and purchase requests.
So, we have a situation that prohibits a purchase order without a Purchase request for a particular product. Sage x3 has the feature that you can restrict a purchase order without a purchase request. To achieve this, follow the below process.
Navigate to:- Common data > Products > Products
Go to the products function, select the Purchasing tab, set the Mandatory PO request checked, and then save the changes. Please refer to the below screenshot 1.

So in the product function, I have set the product BMS008 to the Mandatory PO request checkbox. Now we try to create the direct purchase order. The system will prohibit the order with that product line. Please refer the screenshot 2
