How to change the User Password in Sage X3V12 ?

Sage X3 ERP is one of the most relevant for companies because it integrates all of the company’s divisions and teams. ERP without appropriate protection levels in place would be the worst-case scenario, since the whole company would be at risk if all confidential information is leaked, or if information cannot be retrieved in the worst-case scenario.

In the majority of instances, people keep their easy passwords, which put them at risk of getting their accounts compromised. Sage X3 V12 implements a robust collection of password policies that ensures the organization’s security. There are some of them:

• With X3 V12, we can create several password policies and allocate them to groups or users depending on the design of the requirement.
• We can make passwords more complicated by defining a minimum and maximum length, as well as conditions such as upper case/lower case and even a numeric.
• In Sage X3 V12, we can also keep a Black-Listed password so that no one else can use it.
• We may set a password expiration date as well as provide users with a warning prior to their password expiration.

However, if we find ourselves in a situation where we need to change our Sage X3V12 user password, we can do so by following the easy steps below:

Step 1– Navigate to Administration > Administration > Users > Users. 

Step 2- When you click on users, you will be redirected to a new screen (as in the screenshot below) which contains the list of users using the server.

Step 3– Click on the user, for whom the password is required to be changed, like the screenshot below-

Step 4– the next step is to select actions and then click on edit which will take you to a new screen as in the screenshot below-

Step 5– Enter the new password in the new password field. Subsequently click on to ‘Save’ to save the new password (as in the screenshot below)-

Try to login with the new password. Thus, in this way a user can change their password in Sage X3V12.
