In this blog, we will learn how to set up visual process flows in Sage X3 enterprise management. This will allow the graphical representation of a typical transaction cycle and easier navigation to the relevant functions and tasks. Visual process flows in Sage X3 offers an easy and alternative way for X3 users to navigate through the application (instead of relying on the extensive menus and lists of tasks).
Here are the following steps to follow-
- Step1: Create Process flow
- Step2: Create the one menu item and link process flow to that menu
- Step3: Add menu item to the required home page
Step 1- How to create process flow:
Navigation: Setup > Interactive Dashboard > Processes
Create the new process by providing a new process code and select type as the process as shown in Screenshot 1 below-
Process Flow will be designed in the Drawing Tab using the Process Flow Editor. Sage X3 users can add any symbols or buttons etc, in-process editor as shown in Screenshot 2 below.
Once we finish the designing part then we must link the X3 functions. For this, we have to select any particular component and click on the link option which would popup the Link to the window screen where we can give any function code to which we want to link with. The function code would be GESSDH, GESPOH, CONSCOP, etc, and we need to click on save, refer to Screenshot 3.
After creating the Process code click on the Validation as shown in screenshot 4 above.
Step 2: How to create the one menu item and link process flow to that menu
Navigation: Administration > Authoring > Menu Items
In this Sage X3 customization, we need to create one menu item and use same process code as shown in the screenshot 5 and 6 below.
Step 3: How to add a menu item to home page:
Navigation: Administration > Authoring > Home Pages
To add a menu item to the home page in the sage ERP system, we need to go to home pages and select the page to which we want to link the process like shown in the following screenshots-
Click on the ‘Edit Page Content’ and subsequently, click on the ‘+’ Symbol and open the gadgets refer Screenshot 9 and 10 for a better understanding-
To add new gadgets, select the module Purchasing as we have given the purchasing module in the menu item and select the process from the gadget section, as in Screenshot 11-
To finish the setting up of visual process flows in the Sage X3 ERP system, click on tick on the right side of the top to link the process to the home page.
