In the Sage ERP system, Location types are used to set up the management of the stock location or products. In this blog, we will learn how to create Location and Location types of the side in Sage X3V12. To create location and location type we will follow the below steps-
Navigate to: – Common data > Product tables > Location types
In Sage X3, users can create a location type for the site with having all the mandatory data like Location format and proposal sequence. The location format is used when we create locations that can be mass creating locations with one-by-one alphabetical order. Follow these steps and create the location type as mentioned below-

Save the record with the above mandatory details.
Now click on the “Create location” button, which is beside the inquiry button. This would make the pop-up window open. Refer to Image 2 below for a better understanding.

In this location creation, Sage X3 users have to give the from location and to location as per the location format. In the above image, let’s create 10 locations. Here the Expected updates are showing as 10. Refer to Image 3-

Now save the record which should display a warning message as in Image 4 and Image 5, then click on ok then it created 10 locations.

Now the locations are updated which you can see in the statistics tab in the location type function. The statistics tab will show the details of how many locations were created and how many are occupied and the details about the locations in the Sage X3 ERP system as shown in Image 6.

In the Location function, you can find all the locations that were created in the left side list. Image 7 explains the same-
