How to add components after work order creation in sage X3V12?

After work order creation, the component lines get blocked and we aren’t allowed to add the component. We have come across situations like adding the product in the components tab.

Follow the below process to add the component in the component tab.

Navigate to:- Manufacturing > Planning > Work order

Create a work order having mandatory details site, components, bom codes then create the work order. If the work order is allocated completely or partially please deallocate the components. Please refer to the below screenshot 1

The above work order has the two components in the lines level and the grid lines are blocked and the work order got created. Now we try to add another component.

Click on an action button on the lines level then select “Add unexpected material.”

After clicking on the ‘Add Unexpected Material button,’ the system will open a new window will open. We can able to add the component and then click on OK.

After clicking on OK the component, tab add the line that we added in the girds level, then save the record. Refer to the below screenshot 4

  1. And if you want to add one more line with an existing item? Imagine that someone already released one line and then you need to add another “unexpected material”.

How can you enable users to allow unexpected material more than ones on Work Orders?

    1. Hi Pedro, Thank you for your inquiry and your interest in our Sage X3 blogs. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. In response to your question about adding unexpected material and enabling multiple users, follow the instructions: on the component detail popup screen, we have to scroll to the bottom, select the empty line, and click on the three dots. Then it’ll show an option to add unexpected material. In this way, we can add unexpected material.

As per the standard criteria of Sage X3, we can add unexpected raw materials only once for one single item; it will not allow us to add multiple of the same raw materials. You can add raw materials one at a time. Following a system analysis, customization is required if you wish to allow consumers to accept unexpected material more than once.

If you require any further assistance or have additional questions, feel free to reach out to us at info@germinit.com

Once again, thank you for contacting us, and we look forward to serving you.

      Regards,
